Get the best people to work on your home

When we first moved in to our home, we decided that we wanted to update the bathrooms as they were quite old. They had a shower in the middle of the room and everything in that room got wet. So, we used a local man to remove the old bathroom and tiles and replace with nice new modern tiles and fittings with a proper shower area instead of everything getting wet.  It looks OK, but we now have issues with the quality of the work.

A few weeks later we wanted to have extra electrical sockets installed, we thought it would be best to get a fully qualified person when dealing with electrics, so Tony from The Calabria Realty Group recommended a local construction company Giuseppe Scarfone S.R.L. Costruzioni. Whilst the sockets were being installed, we asked him to have a look at our lights in two of our bedrooms as they suddenly failed to work a few days before.  We then found out that the electrics were not as new as we thought, they were not updated since the property was built in 1980 and previous work on the electrics was not safe.  Junction points were not properly capped but were taped and the wires were very hot. No wonder the lights stopped working. Therefore, we decided to get them to replace all the electrics.

When we realised that the men from Giuseppe’s company were so professional and the quality was very good, we wished we used them to update our bathrooms. Although the company is more expensive than the local odd job man, it is definitely a case of “you get what you pay for”.  As we were so happy with their work, we asked them to do some other work on the house whilst they were there and we will certainly use them again for any future work.

What I am trying to say is that it is not always a good idea to get jobs done cheaply. If you want quality work, from my experience, I would recommend using qualified people like Giuseppe Scarfone and his team to do the job and pay that little extra.  We tried to cut corners before Christmas and regret it now, but we have learned for the future.
